The thematic ETFs have experienced rapid growth since 2019, doubling their assets by focusing on megatrends like sustainability, artificial intelligence, and digitalization. They However, 2024 saw a slowdown due to macroeconomic factors, sector rotations, and multiple compressions.
Despite this, the segment is maturing, supported by stricter regulations, innovations such as semi-transparent active ETFs and tokenization, and advanced trading infrastructures,  laying the groundwork for a strong and relevant future in thematic investing.
